The ideal time for a newborn photography session is within the first 5-14 days of your baby's arrival. During this window, newborns sleep deeply and naturally curl into those beautiful, scrunched poses that everyone falls in love with.
That said, every baby is different - sessions up to 4 weeks can still be wonderfully captured. If your baby has already passed the two-week mark, don't worry. Get in touch and we'll work with where they're at.

How far in advance should I book?
Ideally during your second trimester — around 20-28 weeks pregnant. Newborn sessions fill quickly, especially around school holiday periods.
Do I need to tidy my house?
Not at all. A clean corner near a window with good natural light is all that's needed. Juanita will guide you on the best spot when you chat before your session.
Can I include siblings or our dog?
Absolutely yes. Siblings and pets make sessions even more special. Just let Juanita know in advance so time is planned for those moments.
What if my baby won't settle?
Completely normal and expected. Sessions are built around your baby's needs. Feeding, resettling and patience are all part of the process.
Do you travel outside Narangba and North Lakes?
Yes — Joy Filled Photography covers all of Brisbane Northside and also services the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Scenic Rim. A small travel fee may apply further afield.
How long until I receive my images?
Your online gallery will be delivered within 2-3 weeks of your session.
